ABOUT THE ARTIST
"An artist is above all a human being, profoundly human
to the core. If the artist can’t feel everything that
humanity feels, if the artist isn’t capable of loving
until he forgets himself and sacrifices himself if necessary,
if he won’t put down his magic brush and head the
fight against the oppressor, then he isn’t a great
artist." -Diego Rivera
Octavio Tierranegra was born in Celaya, Guanajuato, Mexico
in 1971. He began to study painting at an early age and
in 1986 moved to the United States. After spending most
of his life in Texas, he attended Sam Houston State University.
It is there that he mastered the different mediums. He graduated
in 1996 and continues to create artwork in the comfort of
his home in historic Montgomery, Texas.
